REGINA — The Queen City Pride Festival invites the public to nominate contributors to Regina’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer community, including activists, businesses, volunteers, and allies, for the 2015 QCPride Awards Gala, to be held Wednesday, June 17.
“The QCPride Awards celebrate the people that make Regina a great city to live in, whether you’re LGBTQ, an ally, or a progressive business,” explains Pride board member Dustin Wright. “We are excited to recognise the time, effort, and passion that so many community members contribute to our city.”
Seven award categories will recognise creative talent, youth contributions, political supporters, lifetime achievement, and many more.  Nominations are open to all members of the public — allies and LGBTQ individuals. Nominations are open until April 30, and all details can be found at queencitypride.ca/nominate.
Wright: “Pride is already well-known for our fabulous Pride Parade and amazing parties. The awards gala is a brand-new event, bringing a touch of class and formality to our high-energy festival.”
The Queen City Pride Festival is Regina’s annual LGBTQ celebration and features two dozen community events. 2015’s festival runs June 15-21. For more information, visit queencitypride.ca.
