REGINA — The largest and most vibrant LGBTQ pride festival in Regina’s history will arrive in just seven days. The 26th annual Queen City Pride Festival runs June 15-21, and will feature international talent, brand-new events, and over 30 different activities for all ages and groups.
“I am absolutely excited for this year’s festival,” says Board of Directors representative Striker Wright. “In partnership with outstanding community groups, corporate sponsors, and funding agencies, we’ve developed a dynamic festival with events for youth, families, and adults. Everyone is welcome, whether you are are an ally, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer, we want to see you at our events.”
Talent for this year’s festival include international music, TV, and drag star Shangela from RuPaul’s Drag Race; Canadian recording artist Megan Lane; west-coast gay club DJ Del Stamp; and Regina-born Heather Molloy. The festival attracts tourists from across Canada and the United States.
New to this year’s festival is the QCPride Awards, a gala evening honouring community leaders on Wednesday, June 17. The festival’s pinnacle celebration is Saturday, June 20 with the Pride Parade, OUT in Victoria Park, and Pride After Dark – the official Pride after-party.
