REGINA – At its official launch party this evening, the Queen City Pride Festival announced its 2015 theme: “Be You,” a celebration of diversity, individuality, and uniqueness.
“Whether you’re gay, lesbian, straight, bisexual, transgender, or queer, it’s important to embrace, celebrate, and acknowledge who you are,” remarks Pride Sponsorship Director Phil Ollenberg. “Our 2015 theme is about exactly that – you, and what makes you special.”
The Queen City Pride Festival is Regina’s annual celebration of LGBTQ diversity in Regina, and coincides with similar events province-wide. Regina’s 2015 festival will be its largest-ever, with over 30 events spanning June 15 to 21, with events for adults, youth, and families. The festival wraps up with an all-star event with RuPaul’s Drag Race star Shangela Laquifa, and west-coast club DJ Del Stamp.
The official launch marks the roll-out of the “Be You” campaign to TV, radio, web, and movie cinemas across southern Saskatchewan, Alberta, Manitoba, and North Dakota, driving LGBTQ tourists to Regina. The full schedule is now available at queencitypride.ca/events and in the official pocket-sized Pride Guide at locations across Regina.
