This year’s rules for the Pride Parade means that our community members won’t have the same ability to participate as past years…
This year’s Pride Parade is limited to just 30 entries and so to best represent Regina’s 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, Queen City Pride selected a number of queer and trans organizations and community groups to join the parade as a community showcase.
But that means that individual community members don’t get to walk in this year’s parade. Walking in the parade can have many meanings for many people. For some, it’s a time-honoured tradition that they’ve performed every year. For others, it might be their first act of coming out. For allies, it might be the opportunity to show a loved one that they care and support them.
While we can’t replace the physical act of walking in the Pride Parade, Queen City Pride hopes to allow individuals to symbolically take part by submitting a photo of themselves or a photo that represents them to have it included as part of a collage for our Community Float.
Guest judges and members of Regina Pride will decide the top three displays and award prizes for this year’s contest.
All “Show Your Pride” participants will have their displays showcased on Queen City Pride’s social media to help build exposure for the contest and drive traffic to your business.
August 20th to September 5th
