REGINA — International TV Star Shangela is confirmed to headline PRIDE AFTER DARK: Queen City Pride’s Official Afterparty, Saturday, June 20. Shangela shot to fame as a contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race and has since made guest appearances in Glee, The Mentalist, and 2 Broke Girls, plus a cameo in Lady Gaga’s Applause lyric video.
In addition to being a TV star, Shangela is an accomplished stand-up comedian and activist. Always working, her forays into dance music include “Werqin’ Girl” (2012) and “Uptown Fish” (2015).
Co-headlining PRIDE AFTER DARK is Vancouver-based DJ Del Stamp. Del Stamp enjoys an international fan following, has headlined events for Whistler Winterpride and Victoria Pride, and is a resident DJ and producer for some of Vancouver’s biggest nightclubs.
“We’re thrilled to have this star power for the 2015 festival” says festival co-chair Jesse Ireland. “I’ve been a fan of Shangela from her first appearance on Drag Race. She’s a powerhouse, and we can’t wait for her to rock Regina.”
